Well with this new fluidity, what is the big deal ...

if you can change your sex, just because you feel different inside ......

why not your race, because you want to identify that way instead?

Race of Rachel Dolezal, head of Spokane NAACP, comes under question

Psychologically, gender confusion, seems to lead to suicide.  Although the below reference is LGBT propaganda does it help or hurt? The psychology seems to need some exposure how a person gets to not accepting their birth gender or genetics. Is it a fad or political identity group belonging that makes it seem like it is spreading or perhaps just a hyped fad. What percent of the population is gay? What percent of the population is transgender? One would be surprised in today's M$M how small those numbers are.
source: ...

A staggering 41 percent of transgender people in the United States have attempted to commit suicide, according to a new survey. About 19 percent of transgender people report being refused medical care because of their gender-nonconforming status, and a shocking 2 percent have been violently assaulted in a doctor's office.

These statistics are just some of the sobering findings from a survey of more than 7,000 transgender people conducted by the National Center for Transgender Equality and the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, released in October 2010.

"group belonging" is a extremely strong force in humanity ... it might be that is part of what makes us human and special and separates us from slime mold.  the basis of the belonging can be many things ... with much confusion and conflict.  the suicides do not surprise me ... nor that so few people stray outside of the norm.

twitter's #belonging has more context on this one.

lots of animals collect themselves together - apes, chimps, wildabeasts, zebras, bees, fish, ..... not unique to humans.

yep, , totally agree.  #belonging started happening quite early on as our life force grew.  i think it is a network phenomena ... maybe check out #affinity.

... or #attraction ... er, maybe #LOA.

or #imagination or #meaningless or #abstractions or #crazyglue or #noneoftheabove

oh ... so talk of belonging is crazy meaningless.  Mark, i don't think so.

re twit ...

well it is not really all that much of a stretch to discover race as a social construct.

i mean the actual biological difference, they tell me, is totally trivial.

So the big difference must certainly be social.  ... historical truths, in fact.

Kewl ... now we get #raceFluid

Rachel Dolezal breaks her silence on TODAY: I identify as black.

In her view the actual facts of race should be ignored, what is important is in which group she feels she belongs ... which group she self identifies with.

My opinion:  that is quite a revolutionary view and would be kewl if we all could do that.  I just wish she would not have lied about the actual facts.

Anyway it will be interesting to see how her whole drama plays out.

.. & she could just be another ordinary human anywhere. ... maybe even give up politics & racism & identity grouping.

haven't ever heard anybody every lying about being human  .  but that would certainly be a news story were it to ever actually happen.

Now that #RachelDolezal has been duly #outed she could still become a #Blond and move to Texas.

i'm struggling to understand this tweet

oh ... ok ... we are talking #transfat here

source: Rachel Dolezal steps down

While challenging the construct of race is at the core of evolving human consciousness, we can NOT afford to lose sight of the five Game Changers (Criminal Justice & Public Safety, Health & Healthcare, Education, Economic Sustainability, and Voting Rights & Political Representation) that affect millions, often with a life or death outcome. The movement is larger than a moment in time or a single person's story, and I hope that everyone offers their robust support of the Journey for Justice campaign that the NAACP launches today!

See also the new logicide in thought 18421 .  Who or what you " identify with" only has reality to you & whomsoever you can get to buy into it.  You may "identify with being a potato" or a ham sandwich :

well identifying with being a potato or a ham sandwich is a bit of a stretch
I remember some kind of dramatic performance called "Ham Sandwich" at PJ2 that you did or wrote. Do you remember what it was about?

in my memory, it was about a person learning about sex ... not identifying with a ham sandwich.  this meme called "identifying" or "self identifying" or "fluidity" is experiencing a re-emergence in our culture ... i didn't know anything about it back then.

what is kind of strange is that it goes right along with your definition of racism.  if race facts are  to be ignored, and perchance belonging still allowed, well then seems to me that the criteria of belonging necessarily falls to one's personal choice ... Right on, Caitlyn! ... Right on Rachel!... what's not to like?

Nope! Lying about your race is not in my idea at all.

i did not really say lying was in your idea.   But if race facts are irrelevant, why cannot one choose to be that which one wants to be?  For example, if the cities zoning definitions are to be considered irrelevant, i can belong to the farmers even though i live  on SE 170 Place.  If genitalia is irrelevant to how i express myself sexually, then i can choose to express myself as female if that is how i feel inside.  If the pigment in my father's skin and the color of my hair is irrelevant and to be ignored, then which race i identify with can be totally up to me.  These things can be fluid.  Seems to me that follows from your definition, if you still allow the behavior of belonging itself.
Nonsense! You are perverting my thought 18417 . thought 18423 & thought 17705 & turning it all into the lies & distortions mentioned in [my: item 18421] - logicide indeed!

well you do not say how, so your message is not informative.

i have just separated the human behavior of belonging, form the criteria which defines the group to which a person belongs.  those things are quite distinct.   Your definition says the criteria of belonging is irrelivant and should be ignored.  Ok.  but carry that deeper.    Does your definition also say that humans should not behave as if they belong to these groups at all?  Or some groups it is ok to feel a belonging and others not.

i am really curious why you think this is nonsense.  could you talk about the logic itself?

i think there is actually much to be said for our belongings being fluid ... but of course as in all things there is a balance.  strong associations and structure reduce chaos ....  order is good, inflexible order is tyranny ... soo un-human.

Rachael said this morning on TV, "there was nothing about her that feels white".   Sorry i had to paraphrase that from my flakey memory.  I think she might be being honest when she says that.

... or she might have a mental problem. Often a liar will continue withy the deception as long as she can - the more publicity the better.

Well that she lied was certainly a big mistake.  There is no excuse for that.  If you understand me, you will know that i hold honesty in high regard.  But we should be able to get past that, shouldn't we?  ... i mean if your not all that very concerned with just being right at the expense of understanding what is being said.  Yes she has told this story badly with all of her lies.   That is a fact.  And after listening to her this morning where she called her lies, "creative non-fiction", she is still telling her story badly.

Nevertheless, a person can (contra-factually) choose to identify with a group ... can choose to belong in a group, when they can make the factual criteria of the group insignificant to them.  That is an implementation of your very definition of non-racism carried to its extreme.  How is it not?
then identifying with something is meaningless as long as truth & honesty still mean something.

... why? well just because this hits you so very very wrong ... but to me ... well it can actually be done.
