about
a reluctance to bookmark
I have noticed that i have an reluctance to bookmark here at fbi.  The reason being that I don't want my blog to seem like just a series of bookmarks; that doesn't make for very interesting reading.  Consequently i have created a new group, [group mem], where i will do most of my bookmrking and reserve [group seth] for longer, hopefully more interesting, articles.

[group mem] is open, password = mem.

You all are invited to put your bookmarks there too.

I don't have a reluctance to bookmark - most of what I use is already bookmarked in my browsers (all 3 of them). It would be more useful to have a box on the item that prevents an item being bookmarked from appearing in the Living Stream or appearing in  the news upon commenting. I already have too many groups to switch around with.

Well obviously everyone will be doing things there own way.  I am speeking just about my own work habits.  Previously i had used an extensive bookmarking system on my browsers but i noticed that i rarely consulted them and that when i did consult them i ususally had troubles finding what i was looking for.  Now i do all of my remembering on fbi and end up consulting my bookmarks more frequently.  What i am looking for is usually 4 keystrokes and a mouse click or two away .  An added benefit is that others can share my memory of these things as well. Fastblogit.com is not just a blogging and conversation tool for me;  no, it is my primary internet memory.
